6-11 Installing Air Shrouds
Air Shrouds
Air shrouds concentrate airflow to maximize fan efficiency. The F418IL chassis
requires an air shroud in each node.
Installing an Air Shroud
1. Power down the system and remove the power cords from the rear of the
power supplies as described in Section 6-3. Remove the node from the
chassis as described in Section 6-5 and remove the cover from the node as
described in Section 6-6.
2. Make sure that the serverboard and all components are properly installed in
each node.
3. Place the air shroud over the serverboard, as illustrated below. The air shroud
sits behind the system fans and goes over the top of the serverboard and its
components.
4. Repeat the procedure for the remaining three nodes.
