6-12 Removing and Installing System Fans
The F418IL chassis includes eight (8) 8-cm external cooling fans. These fans are
NOT redundant, but they are hot-plug and should be replaced when they fail.
Removing and Installing External System Fans
Removing a Rear Exhaust Fan
1. Determine the failed fan.
2. Press the release tab on the top and bottom of the fan and pull it away from
rear of the node.
Installing a Rear Exhaust Fan
1. Press the release tab on the top and bottom of the fan and insert it into the
open fan bay.
2. Push the fan into the bay until it clicks into the locked position.
