What You Should Do
Perform the following:
1. On the System Service Tools (SST) display, select
the Start a service function option.
2. Select the Error log utility option on the Start a
Service Function display.
3. Search the error log for entries made during the
time that the customer reported having problems
with the system.
Note: For example, a 6343 tape unit error would
be identified as follows:
Translate Table ID: 6343
Reference Code: CC5F
Description:
1/4-inch tape unit failed.
4. Find any reference codes in Chapter 2, ·Unit Ref-
erence Codes" on page 2-1.
5. If the error log does not help you define the
problem, ask your next level of support for assist-
ance.
