G3Lite overview
Thermo Scientific
The G3Lite is a compact solution designed to operate all control
components in research and process development laboratories. It is
designed to minimize footprint while maintaining separation between
the electronics and the gas flows to maximize safety. The electronics
have been designed and arranged to minimize electrical/electronic
interference.
The NEMA12/IP54-rated, stainless steel enclosure contains the power
supplies, sensor transmitters, actuator controllers, pumps, and other
I/O components. It also contains the hardware required to connect to
the control network and interface to the TruBio Software.
A human-machine (user) interface (HMI) is mounted on top of the
cabinet. It consists of a monitor, keyboard, and mouse, as needed.
Each controller also has two (2) additional analog input connectors
(4–20 mA) plus two (2) auxiliary control loop connectors (0–10 V) for
system expansion capability. There are two (2) discrete signal outputs
and two (2) connections for vent filter heaters, and a port to attach
additional pumps for multi-feed strategies.
The cabinet is closed by two (2) doors, each secured by two (2)
quarter-turn latches.
WARNING: These should not be opened by the user as lethal
voltages will be exposed.

1.2 User workstation

On the top of the cabinet is the HMI (the monitor/touchscreen), the
keyboard, and the mouse (if used), as shown in Figure 1.2. Below/
behind the monitor on the right is a shelf for the TruFlow gas manifold.
The monitor is supported by a mounting bracket that will support up
to 20 kg (45 lb). The rear of the bracket also serves as a cable guide to
hold cables and tubing.
