Thermo Scientific
Bag pressure—8-pin connector for a pressure sensor.
TCU—8-pin connector that provides control of the Temperature
Control Unit (TCU), if used.
Load cell—Four connectors are for the load cells on the S.U.B.
The transmitter automatically detects whether there are three or
four load cells on the S.U.B. and sums the values appropriately.
Note: For some S.U.B.s that have the summing function in the
S.U.B. frame, a single connection to Load Cell 1 is sufficient, but
special connectors are required to disable the remaining inputs.
pH and DO—The electrochemical pH and DO sensors. Connectors
will be hardwired at the factory if you select this option. pH is an
8-pin connector; the DO connector is a 5-pin connector. Note: The
second DO connector is a pinch valve. Spares are available as
needed.
Alarm relay—Dry contact relay that can be used to activate a
building alarm if a user-configured alarm condition is detected by
the system.
AI-1 and AI-2—5-pin analog (0–20 mA) inputs. They are input only,
with no control capacity.
AUX-1 and AUX-2—5-pin (0–10 V) auxiliary connectors for control
loops. Note: Spare connectors are available as needed by the user.
Temp—5-pin connection. The primary vessel temperature sensor,
used to connect to a resistance temperature detector (RTD).
Pinch valve—5 Pin Turck. Pin 1 is 24 V DC control signal to pinch
valve. Pin 3 is 24 V DC common, Pin 2 and 4 are not used. Pin 5 is
for the cable shield and should be grounded (refer to Figure B.3).
Pump tower—Optional connection to control an external
pump tower, if more than four pumps (that are provided with the
controller) are required. Up to four (4) pumps can be connected to
the pump tower, for a total of eight (8) pumps.
Digital agitator—Optional two-position connection for signal and
power to a motor (described in section 2.9).
See section 5.2 for information on connector pin configurations.
