2.1
Intended use
The safety guard locking device is used to monitor the position of the gate on a moveable
guard. A guard locking device can be used as an option. However, it is independent of the
state of the safety outputs.
The system is not intended to implement an application where personal protection is re-
quired.
Safety function of safety switch:

Interlocking guard with interlock function,
Together with the control system of the machine, the following functions can be per-
formed:
– The hazardous machine functions are not accessible due to the guard,
– These hazardous machine functions cannot operate until the guard is closed;
– The guard remains closed until the risk due to the not accessible, hazardous machine
– When the guard is closed, the hazardous machine functions that cannot be reached

When the actuator is outside the assured release distance S

Conditional unlocking
The safety guard locking device prevents the safety gate from being unlocked while there
is any hazard within the danger zone.
