Operating the 7124 RCU from external DC supplies is straightforward.
a) Take the 7124 DC Power Input Cable and remove from its packaging.
b) Connect the Power Input Cable to the following battery terminals:
Connect the WHITE wire crimp terminal to +24V.
Connect the GREEN wire crimp terminal to 0V (Ground)
Connect the BLUE wire crimp terminal to -24V
c) Ensure that the batteries are suitably charged and that their output voltages are
within the specification required for RCU operation – see table E-1 below.

d) Verify that that the 7124 RCU is disconnected from the line power supply.
e) Plug the 5-pin DIN plug on the Power Input Cable into the POWER IN/OUT
connector on the rear panel of the 7124 RCU.
f) Turn ON the 7124 RCU by pushing and holding the battery power-on button
located on the chassis rear panel. The power LED on the front panel should
illuminate green indicating the unit has powered, after which the power-on
button can be released.
g) The 7124 RCU is now ready for use.
If a DC voltage in excess of 30 V is applied to any of the battery input lines then
internal overvoltage detection circuit will cause the inline fuses in the Power Input
Cable to blow.
WARNING: Replacement fuses must be 20 mm x 5 mm, 1 A, 250 V, fast blow
types.
