The m icrocont roller for syst em m anagem ent / keyboard/ m ouse cont rol can be upgraded
in t wo ways. The user can eit her use a special MS- DOS* ut ilit y or use an ext ernal
com put er connect ed t o t he syst em via t he serial port on t he board.
Ca ut ion: Make sure t he m ot herboard is not powered on and t he power supply is disconnect ed
before m oving any of t he j um pers.
To program t he m icrocont roller via t he ut ilit y, t he user m ust ensure t hat j um per J9H1 is
populat ed. Once t he program m ing is com plet e, j um per J9H1 should be unpopulat ed.
I f t he user chooses t o use an ext ernal com put er connect ed t o t he syst em via t he serial
port , t here are five j um pers t hat have t o be set correct ly first . Please refer t o
for a sum m ary of t hese j um pers and see
Here is t he sequence of event s necessary t o program t he H8.
1. Wit h t he board powered off, m ove t he five j um pers list ed in
program m ing st uffing opt ion.
2. Power t he S5 volt age rails by at t aching an AC brick or an ATX power supply t o t he
syst em .
