The reference board has t wo PCI slot s for add- in cards. The PCI bus is com pliant t o t he
PCI Rev. 2.3 Specificat ion at 33 MHz.

The 82573E provides t he LAN connect ivit y for t his plat form . I t provides Gigabit
et hernet as well as I nt el® Act ive Managem ent Technology funct ions. I t is connect ed t o
t he I CH7- M t hrough a PCI e int erface and t o an RJ45 connect or at J5A1A wit h built in
m agnet ic decoupling. Access t o t his int erface is provided on t he rear I / O panel ( See
Figure 3 on page

945GME Express Chipset is a direct connect connect or; locat ed at J8J2. The ot her serial
ATA connect or is broken up int o t wo connect ors. One connect or is for t he serial dat a
signals, and t he ot her is t o power t he serial ATA hard disk drive. These connect ors are
locat ed at J7H1 and J6H3. A green LED at locat ion CR7J1 indicat es act ivit y on t he ATA
channel.
