solut ion. The CK- SSCD solut ion offers im proved EMI perform ance by spreading t he
radiat ed clock em issions over a wider spect rum t han a single frequency. This is
accom plished while cont rolling t he clock frequency deviat ion such t hat syst em
perform ance is not com prom ised. The FSB frequency is det erm ined from decoding t he
processor BSEL[ 2: 0] pin set t ings.

The processor has a t herm al diode for t em perat ure m onit oring. The SMC t herm al
m onit oring device will t hrot t le t he processor if it becom es hot . I f t he t em perat ure of t he
processor rises t oo high, t he SMC will alt ernat ely blink t he CAPS lock and NUM lock
LEDs on t he board, and t he board will shut down.
