NETLink S7-Compact supports the following features:

expansion of participants using MPI or PROFIBUS via pass-through PG port

interface for programming controllers via Ethernet

compatibility with STEP7, TIA-Portal, WinCC and WinCC flexible

display and configuration of the adapter in STEP7 or TIA portal
§
connection to HMI station and PLC directly via RFC1006 Ethernet protocol

support of OPC and OPC UA by using uaGate, edgeConnector, or dataFEED OPC Suite products for
integration into higher-level systems, e.g. for production management
