Intrinsically Safe
Wireless Position Monitor 4310 which is manufactured by Emerson Process Management Asia Pacific Pte Ltd, has been
proven to be in conformity with the following standards, after the inspection conducted by National Supervision and
Inspection Centre for Explosion Protection and Safety of Instrumentation (NEPSI):
GB3836.1-2000. Electrical Equipments Used in Explosive Atmosphere. Part 1: General requirements.
GB3836.4-2000. Electrical Equipments Used in Explosive Atmosphere. Part 4: intrinsically Safe Type "i".
The EX marking of the products is Ex ia II CT5/T4/T3, and the Ex certificate number is GYJ101155X.
Requirements for Safe Use of the Certified Product
The EX certificate number with a suffix "X", which means the safe use of the product must meet the following
requirements first, and the requirements detailed below:
1. The antenna area can only be wiped by a damp cloth to prevent the risk of the static electricity spark.
2. The only power supply module type which can be used: GE42058X12 and GE42052X012.
Notes for Use of the Certified Product
1. The relationship between Temperature Group and Environment Temperature is stated below:

2. The terminals WP1/WP2 can be connected to intrinsically safe certified hand-held HART communication
equipments, the parameters of the terminals stated below:
U i = 6.1 V, I i = 5 mA, C i = 2.5 nF, L i ≈ 0
U o = 5.9 V, I o = 14 mA, C o = 42 nF, L o ≈ 150 mH
3. Users are not allowed to replace the internal electrical components of the product, but should work together with
the manufacturer to solve the malfunction in the operation, to avoid affecting the explosion proof function or
causing any damage.
4. The installation, use and maintenance of the product must all follow the product instruction manual and the
relevant specification in GB3836.13-1997 Electrical Equipments Used in Explosive Atmosphere, Part 13:
Maintenance of Electrical Equipments Used in Explosive Atmosphere; GB3836.15-2000: Electrical Equipments Used
in Explosive Atmosphere, Part 15: Electrical installation in Hazardous Locations (except for coal mine);
GB3836.16-2006: Electrical Equipments used in Explosive Atmosphere, Part 16: Inspection and Maintenance of
Electrical Equipments (except for coal mine); GB50257:1996: Installation of Electrical Equipments: Installation and
inspection criterion for Electrical Equipments in explosive or fire-hazardous environment.
Refer to table 8 for approval information and figure 33 for the NEPSI approvals nameplate.
