15 Installation procedure – readhead
Three different methods may be used to install the readhead, making installation easier for a wide
range of machine types and mounting surfaces. These are outlined in the following sections.
NOTE: Installation of the extrusion follows the procedure outlined in
is independent of the readhead installation method being used.
15.1 Start of measuring length – standard
The start of the measuring length (ML) is indicated by the triangular marking on the extrusion;
a corresponding arrow on the readhead should be aligned to this arrow to ensure the readhead is
within the encoder measuring length.
