For engine without drain plug, we recommend to use oil extractor pump (fig. 22), or
drain the oil into the container by slightly tilting the engine toward the oil filler cap/dipstick

(fig. 23). Before tilting the machine, remove fuel from tank. Keep the spark plug end of
the engine up.
5.
Reinstall the drain bolt. With the engine in a level position, fill to the upper limit mark on
cap/dipstick.
6.
Reinstall the oil filler cap/dipstick securely.

Please dispose of used motor oil in a manner that is compatible with the environment.
Note:
We suggest you take used oil in a sealed container to your local recycling center or service
station for reclamation. Do not throw it in the trash or pour it on the ground or down
a drain.
Running the engine with a low oil level can cause engine damage.

Wash your hands with soap and water after handling used oil.

AIR FILTER

A dirty air filter will restrict air flow to the carburetor and cause poor engine performance.
Inspect the air filter each time the engine is operated. You will need to clean the air filter more
frequently if you operate the engine in very dusty areas.

AIR FILTER INSPECTION AND CLEANING

The air filter must be serviced (cleaned) after 25 hours normal working. Service more
frequently when operating the machine in extremely dusty areas.
DETERMINE THE TYPE INSTALLED ON YOUR ENGINE AND SERVICE AS FOLLOWS.
Shut off the engine before performing any service on the machine. Wait till all moving

parts are completely stopped and disconnect the spark plug.
1.
Release the air filter cover (fig. 24A).
2.
Remove the air filter cover (fig. 25A). Be careful to prevent dirt and debris from falling into
the air filter base.
3.
Remove the air filter from the air filter base.
4.
Inspect the air filter elements. Clean dirty elements.
5.
Wash the cover and filter element (fig. 25B) in warm soapy water, rinse, and allow to dry
thoroughly. Or clean in non-flammable solvent and allow to dry. DO NOT USE GASOLINE!
6.
Dip the filter element in clean engine oil, then squeeze out all excess oil. The engine will
smoke if too much oil is left in the foam.
7.
Reassemble the air cleaner.
8.
Close the cover (fig. 25A) and secure it.

Replace filter if frayed, torn, damaged or unable to be cleaned.
