Unit Installation and Restrictions

3.4.1

Main Control Unit

!
WARNING
(1) Isolate the main control unit from the power drive circuit parts, AC power supply
cable and AC signal line, where possible. When mounting the unit at a place
where it cannot be isolated, they should be more than 100 mm away from each
other to avoid an adverse effect by noise. Especially, due consideration is
necessary for the printed boards which are exposed on the left side of the main
control unit and are susceptible to noise effect.
(2) Provide ample space for wiring (i.e., 100 mm or over each on your side and
lower side).
(3) To assure ventilation in the module, mount the main control unit as shown in Fig.
3.4.1 so that the air flows from the bottom to the top. Provide ventilation space
of more than 100 mm on the top side. Do not place a device with large heating
volume under the main control unit.
(4) When mounting a fan motor nearby, be sure to locate it over the main control
unit and determine the air direction as if the air were sucked from the unit.
(5) For future expansion, it is recommended to provide space on the left side of the
main control unit so that when an S rack is used, an M rack can be mounted.
(6) Install the main control unit vertically so that the power supply can be located on
the right side.
(7) Mount the unit on a surface without any projection such as screw.
The main control unit should be separated from the
power drive circuit parts, AC power supply and power
line. Otherwise, it may malfunction due to noise effect.
