Notification System

Feature Description

This appendix outlines a feature in Nortel Quality Monitoring that allows
sending of notifications about various errors on the server that may
potentially cause problems if not corrected and may require attention from
the system administrator or support personnel.
The system supports the following types of notifications:
Sending a message to a specified user. To receive the message, the user
must be active (logged on to) at the time.
Sending a broadcast message to all active users.
Sending an email to a list of recipients.
Sending a page to a pager capable of receiving emails.
Sending an email to support
Each notification contains the following information:
Priority.
The name of the process that originated the notification.
Notification text.
Additional information (optional).
The priority is set by the application that originates the notification and may
be one of the following:
Low
Medium
High
Critical
Usually only the notification text is being sent to the recipient except when
the recipient is support. A notification sent to support may contain the
following:
