Troubleshooting Tips

If you experience any problems durung the testing, consider the following:
Is it a communication problem? Can all of the machines "ping" each
other?
Refer to the "Installation Prerequisite Checklist," on page 21 to
review the required network components.
Did all of the components start correctly?
Refer to "Running the Nortel Quality Monitoring Server in Console
Mode," on page 110 to review the startup process.
Are the DNs/Position IDs defined at the Nortel Contact Recording Server
as well as in the Nortel Quality Monitoring Client SIU Utility?
If all of the components and systems seem to be running, review the
common problems listed in the next section for possible solutions.
Common Problems
This section lists common problems experienced in new installations. Please
refer to the Nortel Quality Monitoring Troubleshooting Guide for more help
with diagnosing and solving problems.
Startup Problems
WitnessService won't start.
For the Nortel Quality Monitoring Server to be able to function correctly,
you must use Nortel Quality Monitoring Client to set up at least one
department record, at least one extension, and at least one agent record.
Check the Filter.log file. If the following message appears, it is probably
because the database has not been populated with these required records:
