3. Transporting the instrument
Polypropylene (PP) bottle adapters are supplied with the instrument. These may be used only for me-
dia that do not attack the PP. Alternatively ETFE/PTFE bottle adapters can be used (Accessories/spare
parts, p. 72). The suitability of ETFE/PTFE bottle adapters must be checked by the user.

4.2 Priming

Follow during every use, especially with hazardous media
> Wear protective clothing, eye protection and appropriate hand protection!
> Never press down the piston when the screw cap is screwed on!
> Avoid splashing the reagent!
> To avoid splashes dispense slowly.
> Liquid may accumulate in the screw cap. Open the screw cap slowly in order to pre-
vent splashing.
> Follow all safety instructions and comply with the operating exclusions and limita-
tions of use; see Limitations of use, p. 46 and Operating exclusions, p. 46.
Before using the instrument for the first time, ensure it is rinsed carefully and discard the first few
samples dispensed. Avoid splashes, as ethanol and glycerin residues may be present in the instru-
ment.

For bottles with other thread sizes, select a suitable bot-
tle adapter.

Always wear protective gloves when touching the in-
strument or the bottle, especially when using danger-
ous liquids.
c.
When mounted to a reagent bottle, always carry the in-
strument as shown in the figure!
