9.3 Replacing discharge tube/valves

A functional test must always be carried out after exchanging components.

9.3.2.1 Replacing the discharge valve
The discharge valve has a safety ball that closes automatically when the discharge tube is removed.
Attaching the discharge tube reopens the safety ball.

NOTICE
a.
Instruments with a recirculating valve should be set to
'Recirculate', and the valve lever pulled upwards to re-
move it.
b.
Slide the discharge tube housing all the way up, then
pull it forward with gentle up and down motions.
c.
Hold coupling piece of the new discharge tube and pull
housing up. Push housing into the valve block until it
meets the stop.
d.
Slide the discharge tube housing all the way down.
e.
For instruments with a recirculation valve, pull up the
valve lever to the 'Recirculate' position, and press it in
tightly.
Always install the valve intended for the particular instru-
ment model and size! (See ordering data, Ordering Informa-
tion, p. 70) Identical filling valves but different discharge
valves are used for Dispensette® S and Dispensette® S Or-
ganic. For easy identification, the discharge valves for the
Dispensette® S Organic are marked with 'ORG'.
NOTICE
a.
After disassembling the discharge tube (see Replacing
discharge tube, p. 66), use the assembly tool to un-
screw the discharge valve.
b.
Firmly screw in the new discharge valve first by hand
and then tighten it with the assembly tool. The thread
should not be visible.
