FCC requirements

Information in the following paragraphs pertains to FCC-required information
concerning equipment that is connected to the public switched telephone
network (PSTN). These paragraphs describe where to locate details concerning
the Remote Gateway 911x series units' compliance to FCC regulations, as well
as these regulations' effects on the use of the Remote Gateway 911x series units.

Part 68

The Remote Gateway 911x series units comply with Part 68 of the FCC rules. A
label on the underside of the enclosure contains, among other information, the
FCC certification number and ringer equivalence number (REN) for the Remote
Gateway 911x series units. If requested, you must provide this information to the
telephone company.

Telephone network plug and jack

The Remote Gateway 911x series unit's package contains an FCC-compliant
telephone cord and modular plug. The Remote Gateway 911x series unit's
design calls for it to be connected to the telephone network or premises wiring
using a Part 68-compliant modular jack. Refer to Chapter 3, "Installing the
