Procedure
Step 1.
Position the backplane on the drive cage so that the tabs on the drive cage are inserted into the
corresponding holes in the backplane.
Step 2.
Slide the backplane as shown until it is seated into position in the drive cage.

After you finish
1. Reconnect the cables to the backplane. See "3.5-inch hot-swap drive backplane cable routing" in the
ThinkSystem ST650 V2 Backplane/Backplate Cable Routing Guide.
2. Reinstall all the hot-swap drives and drive bay fillers (if any) into the drive bays. See "Install a hot-swap
drive" on page 84.
3. Reinstall the server cover. See "Install the server cover" on page 190.
4. Complete the parts replacement. See "Complete the parts replacement" on page 206.
