Step 6: Use a multimeter to check battery pack voltage, check the battery wire
harness for continuity, and verify that there are no short conditions.
Note: You will find additional wire harness and connector information in
Appendix B: Toro Electronic Controller Connections (page
Note: Inspect the wire harnesses for damage and wear while checking the items in the following steps. Refer to
Wire Harnesses and Component Connector Assemblies (page
Step 6.1: Check for battery pack voltage, battery wire harness, and main
wire harness for possible damage with Li+ battery diagnostic wire harness
installed.
Use the Li+ battery diagnostic wire harness, Toro P/N 120-6339.
Step 6.1.1: Check that the machine operates.
1. Install the diagnostic wire harness. Refer to
2. Use the key switch to start the machine.
Note: If the machine starts, the fault is likely in the battery wire harness.

Step 6.1.2:
1. Attach a multimeter to the Li+ diagnostic wire harness P04 connector, POS and NEG pins.
Note: After you connect the P06 and P07 connectors together in step 2A, the voltage will only be present
for approximately 2 to 3 seconds to accomplish step 2B.
2. Perform the following 2 steps (A and B) simultaneously.
A. On the diagnostic wire harness, connect the P06 and P07 connectors together. Refer to
B. As you connect the P06 and P07 connectors together, read the voltage on the multimeter. The

reading should be 42 to 64 Vdc.
Note: If the battery pack voltage measures correctly, then the battery wire harness or the main wire
harness may be the cause of the fault.
The battery pack voltage tested good. Complete repairs as required. Go to
the Equipment to Service (page 19)
