applicable safety, occupational safety and environmental protection provisions for the area of
application must be complied with.
In addition, the operator is responsible for ensuring that the system is kept in perfect technical
condition at all times.
The operator must:
Familiarize itself with the applicable occupational safety provisions and must also conduct
a risk assessment to identify hazards resulting from the specific operating conditions at the
system installation location. The operator must implement these findings in the form of
operating instructions for the operation of the system.
Throughout the entire system service life, the operator must check whether the operating
instructions that it has created conform to the latest regulations and adapt them if neces-
sary.
The operator must ensure that the system conforms to the current applicable requirements
and regulations for the operation of fire extinguishing systems with inert gas as the extin-
guishing agent and check that the system is working properly. The following applies in par-
ticular:
The operator must comply with the valid national regulations for fire extinguishing systems
and other local valid regulations and take them into account in the operation of the system.
The operator must always observe the inspection intervals specified in this manual.
The operator must carry out checks and operation in accordance with the instructions in
this manual.
The operator must document the results of the checks in the log book.
The operator must report defects and/or damage that the operator cannot resolve itself to
the installer or its service department.
The operator must document all shut-downs and failures of the system in the system log
book.
The operator must nominate a person responsible for the system who the installer will train
in the safe performance of work assignments and checks that the operator is required to
carry out. The operator confirms that this training has been completed in the documenta-
tion of the installer.
The operator must ensure that all persons who may enter the protection zone are informed
of the presence of the system and know about the risks and necessary procedures in deal-
ing with the system (e.g.what to do in the case of fire, how to respond in the event of acci-
dental triggering).
