Self Test
The ISU 512e performs an initial self test upon powerup. Once the self test
is successfully completed, the current status mode is displayed by the
front panel. If the ISU 512e is not connected to the network, the S
menu displays DOWN next to the network connection number. If the unit
is connected to the network and configured properly, READY is dis-
played next to the network connection number (see Figure 3-3).

Description
Request to send.
Clear to send. Indicates the ISU 512e
is ready to transmit.
Transmit data. On when the DTE is
transmitting to the ISU 512e.
Receive data. On when the ISU 512e
is receiving data from the far end.
Carrier detect. Indicates the ISU
512e is connected to a remote unit.
Terminal ready from DTE. On when
DTR is active at DTE interface.
Data set ready.
