SOFTWARE UPDATE
There are three methods available for updating ISU 512e software. The
local method involves using the maintenance port and is described in
this section. The other two methods are described in RDL Password
(Remote Download) on page 6-11 and in Utilities/Upgrade on page 6-20.
The ISU 512e contains Flash memory allowing the software to be up-
dated using any PC with an EIA232 COM port and a communication
package supporting XMODEM protocol. After obtaining a new code
file with the extension (.bin) from Technical Support (see the last page
of this manual), use the following procedure to update the software:
Ensure the terminal software package has flow control
turned off.
1.
Power the ISU 512e OFF.
2.
Connect the PC to the ISU 512e using a standard DB-25 cable con-
nected from the EIA232 MAINT PORT on the rear panel of the
ISU 512e to the COM port on the PC.
