gears e n gage positive l y .
N O T E :
After t h e gearsh ift i n g for k shafts a n d gear
s h ifting forks have been f i tted , conf i r m that
gear change i s n o rm a l w h i l e t u r n i n g the cou n­
tershaft and d r i vesh aft. If gear change is not
obtai ned, i t means t h at asse m b l y of gears o r
i n sta l lation of gearsh ift i n g fork i s i n co rrect.
I f th is i s the case, d isasse m b le and trace the
m istake.

After the reverse i d l e gear has been fitted,
conf i rm that reverse gea r c h a nge i s n o r m a l
wh i l e shift i n g t h e g ea rs h ift i nto the neutra l
position. If reverse gear c h a nge i s not
obta i ned, it mea ns that assem b l y of reverse
parts is i n co rrect.

When reasse mb l i n g th e c ra n kcase, pay attention to
the fol lowi ng poi nts.
•
Remove sea lant mate ri a l on the fitt i n g su rfaces
of right and l eft h a l ves of c ra n kcase and th o r­
oughly remove o i l sta i n s .
•
Before i nsta l l i n g the s u m p fi lter, wash the
s u m p f i lter with c l ea n i n g solvent, a nd then
b l ow compressed a i r th rough it to d ry off
s o l vent.
