The p rocedu re fo r adj u st i n g the toe- i n i s a s fo l lows.
•
P l ace the veh i c l e on l evel g rou nd a nd set the
hand l ebars straight.
Make sure that a l l the ti res a re i nf l ated to the
stan d a rd press u re. ( Refe r to page 2 - 1 1 . )
•
P l ace a 75 kg ( 1 65 l bs) weight o n the seat.
•
Loosen the l ock n uts CD on each tie- rod .
N OT E :
Lock nuts w ith yel l ow su rface f i n ish i n g are
l eft- h a n d th read .
•
Measu re the d i stance A and B of front whee ls
(in i l l u stration ) and adj ust the tie- rod s, right and
l eft, to with i n the specified ra nge.
A - B = Toe- i n
Toe- i n
•
Tem p o rari l y tighten the fou r l ock n u ts.
•
Chec k that the d i stances C and D ( i n i l l u stration )
are eq u a l . I f the d i stances C and D a re n ot eq u a l ,
readj u st the tie- rod, right o r l eft, w h ichever
makes the toe- i n va l u e c l ose r to the spec ificatio n.
Check the toe- i n aga i n by m easu r i n g the d i s­
ta nces A and B .

I f t h e toe- i n is not with i n t h e spec i fication,
repeat the adj ustment as above u nt i l p roper toe­
in va l u e is obta i ned and at the sa m e t i m e the
d ista nces C and D become equ a l .
•
T i ghte n the fou r nuts CD afte r adj ustment of
toe- i n is made.
