GRAND STREAM GXP2140
This procedure assumes that the VesseLINK Terminal is starting from its factory reset state and
that the GRAND STREAM GXP2140 phone is also in its factory reset state. Note, most of the
initial settings for the GRAND STREAM phone stay as they are. Only a few of the settings are
required to change as outlined in the steps below.
1.) Connect the GRAND STREAM phone to one of the RJ-45 LAN ports on the front of the
VesseLINK Terminal.
2.) View the Management Portal (http://portal.thaleslink or https://portal.thaleslink). Note
that the SETTINGS PHONE extensions 1001, 1002, and 1003 are pre-configured as
shown in Figure 4-31 above.
3.) In order to bring up the phone's configuration page in a browser, one needs to find the IP
address of the connected phone. This is accomplished by going to the Management Portal
and entering STATUS  CURRENT DEVICES. In this example, the GRAND STREAM
GXP2140 has an IP address of 192.168.55.102 as shown in Figure 4-30 above. It may
take process of elimination to find out what the IP address is.
4.) Using a web browser, use the IP address found in step 3 to go to the GRAND STREAM
GXP2140 phone configuration page. Login as an Administrator and go to
ACCOUNTSAccount 1General Settings as shown in Figure 4-32 Grand Stream
GXP2140 Configuration Page below.
a. In the SIP Server field, enter "sip.thaleslink".
b. In the SIP User ID, the Authenticate ID and Authenticate Password, enter "1002".
c. When finished, press the "Save and Apply" button. See Figure 4-32 below for the
entries above.
