◆ Swivel out the support plates as far as they will go and place
the support arms of the lifting platform as far inwards as pos-
sible.
Caution
Depending on the size of the support plates, they may rest
against the underbody trim and/or side sill.
– If the vehicle has stone impact protective film fitted at the
rear, this must be carefully removed.
– Remove the plugs -1- in the side sill using the removal
wedge -3409- and dispose of the plugs.
– Remove the screw -2- in the rear wheel spoiler and dispose
of the screw.
Caution
Do not remove the underbody sealing completely, as other-
wise the vehicle may no longer be protected against corro-
sion. Corrosion damage arising as a result is not covered
by the vehicle warranty.
– Smooth out any indentations (knicks) -arrows- on the under-
body sealing at the sill mounting flange using the flat scraper
-5448-.
– Restore corrosion protection on exposed areas if necessary.

4.4.2 Corrosion prevention measures

Note
Corrosion damage caused by grinding and sawing is not cov-
ered by the vehicle warranty.
– In order to provide adequate protection against corrosion,
apply the following products with a brush.
◆ Single-component primer surfacer LGF.008.001.42/A3
◆ Two-component vario surfacer, grey LGF.786.004.A3
◆ Audi paint to match the vehicle's colour
◆ Body cavity preserving agent D.330.KD2.A1
