2.2 Application instructions for assembly
adhesive/double-sided adhesive tape
Processing conditions
◆ The recommended processing temperature for the double-
sided adhesive tape and material (vehicle and components)
is between 18 °C and 25 °C.
◆ The bonding surfaces on the body and the add-on compo-
nent must be completely dry, clean and free from wax and oil
or grease.
◆ Wax residue can be removed only using benzine. Benzine
leaves a "greasing residue"; for this reason, bonding surfa-
ces must be cleaned using isopropanol after the residual
wax has been removed!
◆ Roughen and clean all bonding surfaces on the component
to be installed.
◆ The bonding surfaces must be cleaned with isopropanol im-
mediately prior to applying the assembly adhesive.

Basic sequence of operations

◆ First clean the bonding surfaces with isopropanol to remove
separating agent used during the manufacturing process.
◆ Roughen and clean all bonding surfaces on the component
to be installed.
◆ Fit the add-on component in the final position.
◆ Remove the protective film from the adhesive tape.
◆ Fix the add-on component in the final position by applying
even pressure to fix it in place.
◆ Press on the adhesive tape using the pressure roller.
WARNING
The add-on components may work loose and detach
when the vehicle is moving if the assembly adhesive re-
action time is not observed – risk of accident.
◆ Protect the vehicle from water for 12 hours.
◆ The add-on components must not be subjected to any
mechanical load for 24 hours – maximum speed 100
km/h.
◆ Do not wash the vehicle for 48 hours.
