3 Intended use
3.1 Indications for use
The orthosis is intended exclusively for orthotic fittings of the lower limbs and exclusively for
contact with intact skin.
The orthosis must be used in accordance with the indications.
3.2 Indications
• Rupture of the posterior cruciate ligament (acute treatment, conservative therapy, postoperat­
ive treatment)
Indications must be determined by the physician.
3.3 Contraindications
3.3.1 Absolute Contraindications
Not known.
3.3.2 Relative Contraindications
• Sensory disorders of the lower limb (e.g. polyneuropathy)
• Circulatory disorders
• Skin changes in the treatment area (e.g. skin diseases, skin injuries, scars)
• Inflammation, reddening and hyperthermia in the treated body region
• Circulatory disorders, lymphatic and venous insufficiencies, severe varicose veins in the lower
limbs
