Guy Rope Placement
Placement of the Guy Ropes on the Mast
The Basics:
All Blue-sky Radio Configuration masts are guyed once at the top of the mast
when deployed to heights of 8 Meters or 24 feet and above. A guying kit comes
standard with all models 8 Meters and above. The Guying Kit consists of a free-
spinning Guy Ring that has been permanently press-fit on the Mounting Pole,
four Guy Ropes, and four Ground Stakes.
Note:
Strongly recommend that the 4-guy configuration be used at all times as this
provides the safest and strongest configuration. All wind-loading calculations for
the BlueSky Mast have been done using a 4-guy configuration at the top of the
mast.
Placement of the Guy Ropes on the Mast Primary Guying:
The primary guying for the BlueSky Mast is done at the top of the mast and can
utilize two different types of Guy Rings. The standard guy ring that comes with
BlueSky Mast is a free spinning Guy Ring attached to the Mounting Pole,
available on all eight Meter Models and above. The free spinning Guy Ring is
press fit onto the Mounting Pole for safety and stability. By using a free spinning
Guy Ring, the mast can be easily adjusted during and after deployment without
having to reposition the Guy Ropes. This helps keeps the Guy Ropes and
