Drive a stake through the 2 holes at a slight angle away from the center of
the Tripod.
Make sure the stake is driven into the ground until the Guy Loop on the
stake head Contacts the Base Plate. Once the Guy Loop has firmly
Contacted the Base Plate, stop hammering. (Continued hammering may
damage the Base Plate.)
Drive the next stake through the remaining hole in the Base Plate. (if so
equipped)
If the ground is too hard to hammer the stake deep enough for the Guy
Loop to Contact the Base Plate, then it may be necessary to drive the
stake into the ground at a sharper angle away from the center of the
Tripod to maximize the surface area Contact of the stake.
When Stakes are not an option, such as inside or on a paved surface, the
Tripod Base Plates should be secured by sandbags or other weights. The
higher the mast is raised and the greater the weight load, the more
important it becomes to secure the Base Plates.
