8.18 Use in vehicles for transporting persons with reduced mobility

Improper use in vehicles for transporting persons with reduced mobility
Risk of serious injury when using the product as a seat
► The product has not been approved by the manufacturer for use as a seat in vehicles for transporting persons
with reduced mobility.
► In vehicles for transporting persons with reduced mobility, only use the seats installed in the vehicle with the
corresponding personal restraint systems.
► Information on the current status of our measures is available from the qualified personnel.
The product may not be used as a seat in vehicles for transporting persons with reduced mobility.

8.19 Care

8.19.1 Safety instructions

CAUTION
Lack of or improper cleaning
Health hazard due to infections, damage to the product due to user error
► Clean the product at regular intervals.
► Water must not come into direct contact with the electronics, motor or batteries under any circumstances dur­
ing cleaning. Never use a water jet or high-pressure cleaning apparatus to clean the product.
► To avoid contamination with germs, clean seat cushions and back support upholstery whenever they get
soiled.
► Check the driving behaviour of the product after cleaning it.
INFORMATION
Piston rods do not require lubrication. They are maintenance-free.

8.19.2 Cleaning

Clean the product regularly depending on the degree of soiling and frequency of use, at least 1x per month:
Clean the control panel, battery charger, armrest and trim components with a damp cloth and mild cleaning
solution.
Use a dry brush to clean the seat and back upholstery as well as the seat cushion.
Use a damp plastic brush to clean the wheels and frame.
Do not use any aggressive cleaners, solvents or hard brushes etc.
Do not spray the product with a pressure washer.
Observe further cleaning instructions in the section "Belts/belt systems": (see Page 57).

8.19.3 Disinfection

1) Thoroughly clean the pads before disinfecting.
2) Wipe all parts of the product with a disinfectant.

Attaching tensioning straps
1) Position the power wheelchair in its transport loca­
tion.
2) Turn the control unit off (see Page 23 ff.).
3) Verify brake locking. Pushing the power wheelchair
must not be possible.
If needed: Lock the brake (see Page 33).
4) Secure the power wheelchair with tensioning
straps.
The eyebolts on the drive side of the power wheel­
chair (see fig. 45) and the rims of the caster wheels
serve as attachment points.
