The motor is not in the
unloaded position.

There is physical
interference.
Probable Cause
The computer status sense
pads on the bottom of the
computer are not making
contact with the sense
tabs on the docking
mechanism sled.
circuit board by
removing the card
cage and pushing
the power supply
connector down. If
the connector is
loose, replace the
power supply.
Press the eject button
to reset the motor to
the unloaded position.
Undock the computer by
pressing the eject
button. If the
computer does not
undock, remove the
computer using the
manual eject override
method (Section D.1),
and complete the
following steps as
required:
1. Check that the
docking mechanism
sled can move
freely back and
forth. If there is
resistance, make
sure that the sled
is clean and free
of foreign
substances.
2. Ensure that the
bottom of the
computer and the
surface of the
expansion base
docking bay are
clean.
3. Ensure that the
rubber feet are
properly located on
the bottom of the
computer.
4. Gently shake the
expansion base
upside down and
listen for any
loose objects.
Recommended Action(s)
Check to see if the
sense tabs are bent or
deformed. If so,
replace the docking
mechanism.
