Installing mobile enhancements
To install SystemSoft PowerProfiler
PowerProfiler adds the following capabilities to the OmniBook:
Improved battery life under Windows NT 4.0.
PC card power management.
Convenient user control and monitoring of power settings and status.
1. From the \OMNIBOOK\DRIVERS\NT\PNP_APM.40\PROFILER\DISK1 directory,
run SETUP.
2. Click Next at the Welcome Screen.
3. Click Next to accept the default directory.
4. Click Yes to view the PowerProfiler Readme file.
5. Read the PowerProfiler Readme file then click the X in the upper right-hand
corner to close.
6. Choose No, I Will Restart My Computer Later, then click Finish.
To use PowerProfiler with a CD-ROM drive
PowerProfiler may not suspend if you have an external CD-ROM drive installed and
"Cdrom AutoRun" is enabled. To disable this feature, complete the following steps:
1. From the Start menu, run REGEDIT. This starts the Registry Editor in
Administrator mode.
2. Select HKEY_LOCAL_Machine\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Cdrom.
3. Select AutoRun by double-clicking on the Registry Key and changing the value
from 1 to 0.
4. Choose OK, then exit the Registry Editor. Your OmniBook will now suspend if
you have a CD-ROM drive installed.
5. Shut down Windows NT 4.0 and reboot.
The PowerProfiler "Display Power Down" feature is not implemented on the
OmniBook 800. The Display Power Down feature should be left disabled in
order for the PowerProfiler to work.
