Cleaning function

Before running the cleaning function
Make sure that the cooking compartment is empty.
Remove any accessories, cookware or shelf rails from
the cooking compartment. Please see the relevant
section for information on how to remove the rails.

Clean the appliance door and along the edges of the
cooking compartment in the area around the seal. Do
not scrub or remove the seal.

Warning
Risk of fire!
Loose food remnants, fat and meat juices may catch
fire when the cleaning function is in progress. Before
you start the cleaning function, always remove the
worst of the food residues and remnants from the
cooking compartment.Do not use the cleaning
function for cleaning accessories.
The appliance will become very hot on the outside

during the cleaning function. Never hang
combustible objects, e.g. tea towels, on the door
handle. Do not place anything against the front of
the appliance. Keep children away from the
appliance.
If the door seal is damaged, a large amount of heat

will be generated around the door. Do not scrub or
remove the seal. Never operate the appliance if the
seal is damaged or missing.
Setting the cleaning function
Before setting the cleaning functions, ensure that you
follow all of the preparation instructions.
The length of time each cleaning cycle runs for is set at
the factory and cannot be changed.
Touch the z sensor.

The cleaning setting appears in the display panel
and the TO symbol lights up.
Set the cleaning setting in the setting area.

Touch the t sensor.

The cleaning function starts after a few seconds. The
duration counts down in the display panel.
Ventilate the kitchen while the cleaning function is
running.
The appliance door locks shortly after the function
starts. The ‹ symbol appears in the display panel.
Once the cleaning function has finished, an audible
signal sounds. The time is set to zero in the settings
area. Switch off the appliance using the main switch #.
You are not able to open the appliance door again until
the cooking compartment has cooled down sufficiently
and the lock symbol ‹ on the display has gone out.
Delaying the end time
The end time can be delayed. Before starting the
cleaning function, touch the r sensor repeatedly until
the symbol for the end time is displayed in the display
panel. The end time in the settings area is delayed.
The appliance switches to standby mode after a few
seconds.

Changing and cancelling
Once the cleaning cycle is under way, the cleaning
setting cannot be changed.
The end time can be changed provided the appliance is
in standby.
If you want to stop the cleaning function, switch off the
appliance using the main switch.
The appliance door will remain locked until the cooking
compartment has cooled down sufficiently and the lock
symbol on the display has gone out.
After running the cleaning function
Allow the cooking compartment to cool down. Use a
damp cloth to wipe off the ash that has been left behind
in the cooking compartment and around the appliance
door.
Hook the rails back in.
Note: Very bad soiling may cause white deposits to
remain on the enamel surfaces. This is residue from the
food and is harmless. It does not affect performance.
You can remove these residues using lemon juice if
required.

Wet-cleaning assistant

The wet-cleaning assistant takes the hard work out of
cleaning your cooking compartment. Dirt is presoaked
by vaporising the soapy water, making it easier to
remove this dirt afterwards.

Warning – Risk of scalding!
Water in a hot cooking compartment may create hot
steam. Never pour water into the cooking compartment
when the cooking compartment is hot.
Setting the cleaning assistant
Note: The wet-cleaning assistant can only be used in
the cooking compartment when the cooking
compartment is cold. Allow the cooking compartment to
completely cool down.
Remove any accessories from the cooking
