TROUBLE SHOOTING

Problem
No Display
Tool output does not rotate
when trigger is pressed
Torque adjustment has no
effect
Red LED shown
E21 or E16 (error codes)
Measured angle is less
than EvoTorque ® 2 applied
"M=xx°C" Motor too hot.
"D=xx°C" Display too hot.
Click sound from motor
when not running.
E>1000 N·m, E>1350 N·m

Tool runs slower for Torque

Likely Reason
No mains power
External fuse or circuit breaker
has operated
External RCD has operated
Tool is on tight fastener
Tool is off
Tool is in set up mode
Output drive square sheared
Gear train or motor is damaged
Trigger is pressed
In menu mode
Bolt has not made correct
torque or angle
Tool error
Tool slammed into fastener.
230 V tool used on 110 V supply
Flex in reaction bar or reaction
point.
Overuse at high torque.
Cooling fan blocked / broken.

a) The reaction bar is moving
too fast (tightening).
b) Un-doing a tightened joint
with too lower Target.
Likely Solutions
Check electrical mains power is working
Check fuse or circuit breaker
Check for faults then reset the RCD
Remove from fastener
Check correct setting of tool direction
Ensure tool is ON (display lit)
Exit set up to return to operate mode
See MAINTENANCE section to replace

Release trigger
Select exit
Trigger released early
Fastener sheared or thread stripped
Contact Norbar
Bring reaction bar slowly into position.
Use correct mains voltage.
Ensure reaction bar & reaction point are
rigid.
Rest tool. The tool is not operational until
this message clears.
Turn tool off. Unblock / contact Norbar or
a norbar distributor to fix fan.
Rest tool. The tool is not operational until

Normal operation.
Use larger capacity tool.
Turn tool off. Unblock / contact Norbar or
a norbar distributor to fix fan.
Normal operation.
Undo and re-tighten the joint.
Use a larger Target value than the
tightening Target.
