Expansion/Control Slots
Each enclosure has three expansion/control slots (see Figure 2 on page 1-3) for
expansion boards to increase functionality and add new features to the system. If
expansion boards are part of the original system, the boards are installed at the
factory. If the system has a vertical interval sync expansion board,

Input / Output Boards

Audio board
Viewed from the rear of the enclosure, the input boards are on the top. The
output boards are directly below the inputs on an Epica-128 enclosure and below
the CPU and power supplies on an Epica-256 enclosure.

Input & Output Connectors
Input and output connectors are the attachment points for source and destination
devices that connect to the system. Each board has 16 connectors (audio boards
have four connectors with four audio connections each). Input and output
connectors are numbered separately. The numbers are directly above the
connectors and read left to right on each board (see Figure 4). The numbering
continues on each subsequent board of the same signal type.
Caution: To avoid damage (and for service) to the connectors and boards from
cable weight, we recommend using lacer bars or some other type of cable
management system.
