Introducing the Epica-128 & Epica-256
The following segments briefly introduce the hardware on the rear of the
enclosure.
CPU/Control Board
Communication status indicator
System status indicator

The CPU/Control board is on the rear of the enclosure in the farthest left slot.
The two LED indicators on the top of the CPU are:
ä
Communication Status Indicator – for Ethernet / linking communication
activity
ä
System Status Indicator – shows status of the CPU
During normal operation, the System Status Indicator blinks green in a steady
interval, and the Comm Indicator blinks green intermittently. If either or both
LEDs display anything other than blinking green, it may indicate a potential
problem. Contact technical support (see page 7-3).
Each CPU has the following port options:

Ethernet Port – connector (BNC) for linking enclosures*
ä
Serial Ports (Port 1 and Port 2) – DB-9 connectors for attaching RS-232 or
RS-422 cables from external control devices or PCs

Link Port – X
Net communication port for attaching AutoPatch remote
control panels and accessories
* For single enclosures, attach a 50-ohm termination connector (included) to the
Ethernet Port. For multiple enclosures, after linking them add 50-ohm
termination connectors to the exposed ends of the T-connectors on the first and
last enclosures.
