PDLN4100: Privacy and Residency Features

Note: To delete all previously programmed Privacy and/or Residency features:
If you wish to program the PDLN4100 for the Privacy Feature "Mode 1" (Door Normally Locked) --
The Privacy Feature "Mode 1" is designed to allow access to individuals with User Codes or proximity credentials and is typi-
cally used for rooms needing privacy from others such as bathrooms, dorms and meeting rooms.
Programming the PDLN4100 for the "Privacy Feature Mode 1" initially provides a normally locked state. To enter through a
PDLN4100 protected door, the user must use a User Code, metal key, or present a proximity credential. Once inside, the
user presses the button located on the inside lock housing to immediately disable the keypad and proximity reader, thus dis-
allowing all "Basic User Codes" (users 12 and higher) from entering during the "Privacy Time-Out Duration" (Users 1 - 11
or a metal key can always override this Privacy feature with their User Codes or proximity credentials). The red LED on the
outside lock housing blinks to indicate that the room is occupied. When this initial user exits, the PDLN4100 is automatically
set back to its normally locked state and is ready to allow access to a future authorized user (with their valid User Code, met-
al key, or proximity credential). The "Privacy Time-Out Duration" can be programmed for up to 250 minutes*.
Disable Keypad / Prox on Button Press
The default "Privacy Time-Out Duration" is automatically set to 10 minutes (the maximum time this " Privacy Feature"
is enabled). To program your desired duration from 001-250 minutes*, press the following sequence.

If you wish to program the PDLN4100 for the Residency Feature
The "Residency Feature" is provided to prevent a person from unintentionally having the door lock behind them when step-
ping outside the door briefly. Typically used in retirement homes and college dormitories.
Programming the PDLN4100 for the "Residency Feature" will initially provide a normally locked state. To enter through a
PDLN4100 protected door, the user must use a valid User Code, metal key, or present a proximity credential. The
PDLN4100 will then re-lock when door is closed. Turning the inside handle and exiting from the inside will unlock the
PDLN4100 and set it to Passage Mode (unlocked). Any of the following will restore the lock to its normally locked state.
1. The user returns, enters, and presses the button located on the inside lock housing.
2. Someone already inside the premises presses the button located on the inside lock housing.
3. Pre-programmed scheduling restores the lock to its normally locked state.
4. Entering a valid User Code or presenting a proximity credential. Note: The metal key will grant access but will not
change the state of the lock.

If you wish to program the PDLN4100 for the Privacy Feature "Mode 2" (Door Normally Unlocked)
The Privacy Feature "Mode 2" is designed to allow initial access to everyone and is typically used for rooms needing tempo-
rary privacy from others such as bathrooms, dorms and meeting rooms.
Programming the PDLN4100 for the Privacy Feature "Mode 2" initially provides a normally unlocked ("Passage Mode") state.
No User Code nor proximity credential is required to enter. Once inside, the user presses the button located on the inside
lock housing to immediately disable the keypad and proximity reader, thus disallowing all "Basic User Codes" (users 12 and
higher) from entering during the "Privacy Time-Out Duration" (Users 1 - 11 or a metal key can always override this Privacy
feature with their User Codes or proximity credentials). The red LED on the outside lock housing blinks to indicate that the
room is occupied. When the initial user exits, the PDLN4100 is automatically set back to its original normally unlocked
("Passage Mode") state, again allowing access to everyone. The "Privacy Time-Out Duration" can be programmed for up
to 250 minutes*. Note: Function 45 may only be programmed by using the keypad. In addition, Programmed Schedules will
override the state of the lock using Functions 45 and 46. If it is required that programmed schedules do not override pas-
sage mode, Enable/Disable Passage Mode using Functions 48/49.
