Securing an unlocked Trilogy lockset with a drained battery pack
Models:

When a valid code is entered and the batteries are weak, all Alarm Lock Trilogy locksets sound
a special low battery indication. We strongly recommend that weak batteries be replaced as
soon as this indication is heard. However, if weak batteries become completely drained while
the lockset is unlocked (i.e. in "Passage Mode"), use an ordinary 9-volt battery to change its
state to "locked" (disable "Passage Mode") as follows:
The 9-volt battery is used as a temporary substitute power supply, allowing the input of the
"Disable Passage Mode" command to re-lock the mechanism (and secure your property) until

two short wires, both stripped at both ends.
1. Remove the battery housing cover and unplug the battery pack.
2. Take the two wires (for example, 12AWG, more or less, as convenient), stripped at both
ends, and insert one end of each wire into the battery connector plug found inside the lock.
Therefore, one wire will be in contact with the red wire of the battery connector plug, the
other wire will be in contact with the black wire of the battery connector plug. See the
image below.
3. Touch the red wire to the POSITIVE terminal of the 9-volt battery, and touch the BLACK
wire to the NEGATIVE terminal of the same 9-volt battery.
4. The lock will beep and the motor will run. Push the outside lever down; if the device
changes to a locked state, disconnect the 9-volt battery and remove the wires. If the
device remains open, maintain the 9-volt battery connections while the following keypad
buttons are pressed:
5. Press the current 6-digit Master Code and press [AL] until multiple beeps are heard. Press
[AL] [4] [9] []. Press [0] for 5 seconds until multiple beeps are heard (denotes exiting
