11.1.1
CarCheck PLUS gauge
Error
Wrong or doubtful
measurement
Automated identification of
the base material does not
work
Infi appears in the display
Error or Probe error
appears in the display
The device can not be
activated
Possible cause
Incorrect zero reference
Interfering magnetic field
Interfering electromagnetic
fields
Surface too curved
Measurement near edge
Base material too thin
Inadequate base material
Incorrect zero reference
Measuring mode selection
incorrect
Incorrect zero reference
Gauge or probe damaged
Empty batteries
Suggested solution
Carry out a zero point reference on the
zero reference plate corresponding to
the base material
Make sure that the measurement is not
influenced by a magnetic field (such as
door speakers in the car).
Avoid measuring near strong
electromagnetic fields such as
transformers, electric motors or electric
welding equipment.
Observe the minimum radius of
curvature (see technical data).
Keep a distance of at least 10 mm
between probe head and the object's
edges.
Observe the smallest substrate
thickness (see technical data).
Certain alloys and high-grade steels are
not suited for measurements.
Measuring is impossible.
Carry out a zero point reference on both
zero reference plates. Place the probe
without a zero point reference each
time to see if the base material is
identified correctly.
Choose the correct measuring mode via
the menu.
Carry out a zero point reference on the
corresponding zero reference plate.
Have the manufacturer check it.
Insert new batteries and try again.
