8 Data Backup

Attention!
The database provided by the software saves all the information contained in the records. Therefore,
we recommend backing up the database regularly, ideally to an external data storage device, to avoid
data loss due to system crashes or user error.
You should back up your database regularly. Every year it's advisable to work with a new database.

8.1 Back up Data

During a backup, the program copies the complete database with all its current content. You can
reload the database at any time. That way, the data will be available to you in the state that it was at
the time of storage.
Save any changes to the data base prior to creating a backup by clicking
.
Then access the File menu and select the Export Database menu item. A window for selecting the
backup directory opens. Select a directory and click
.
A folder is created in this directory and named automatically. This name is created from the current
date and time and the text CarCheck2DBBackup. You find the actual backup file CarCheck2DB.sdf in
this directory.
