The APRESA quick guide lists the internet link to the APRESA-ISO image that will be 'burned' to CD in
order to become the APRESA Base Software installation CD. Ask VIDICODE sales for a "APRESA
quick guide" if you don't have one at hand. One single image supports all the different hard drive
configurations (NORAID/RAID0/RAID5) and the versions with the encryption feature.
IMPORTANT to note for installation on systems equipped with hardware RAID is that these
systems must install the NORAID version of the APRESA Base Software.
Use any CD writer software to burn the image to create an APRESA installation CD.

Insert the APRESA installation CD into the APRESA and restart the system. The installation process
should start automatically. If installation does not start, make sure the CD drive is in the bootable
devices list. (Check in the BIOS) As an alternative one can make a manual selection for booting from
CD by pressing F8 or F11 (depends on BIOS-brand) quickly after power-on. On successful boot-from-
CD the following screen is presented:
Select the desired APRESA version to install just by selecting from the list and, when asked for, select a
hard drive for installation and confirm the partitioning and allow writing of that hard drive. From this point
on the installation should proceed automatically without further user interaction. The installation process
usually takes less than 20 minutes. The end of the installation is signaled by the ejection of the
installation CD and the 'System Halted' message.
Initial start-up
Connect the APRESA system to Ethernet. On the VIDICODE-made APRESA hardware, this slot is
marked with "LAN". Remove the installation CD, and restart the APRESA system by pushing the
'RESET' button. The system should now boot the newly installed APRESA application. If the system
uses RAID, the hard drives synchronizing process will start. Depending on the size and speed of the
hard drives, synchronization may take several hours to complete. Allow the hard drive synchronization
to finish without power interruption. During synchronization, the APRESA is fully functional and can be
web- accessed.
