4. If the standard test gauge reads low or not at all, the problem lies outside the 387
system. Check for leaks, breaks, kinks, or clogs in the pressure line from the pres-
sure source.
5. If the standard test gauge reads correctly, compare its reading to the suspect
gauge reading.
a.
If the suspect gauge reads about the same as test gauge, the problem is
outside the 387 system. Check for leaks, breaks, kinks, or clogs in the
pressure line between the test gauge and the pressure source.
b. If the suspect gauge does not read about the same as the test gauge, or
does not read at all, connect the HDT to the private data bus and com-
pare the reading on the HDT with the reading on the suspect gauge.
If the suspect gauge reads about the same as the HDT, replace the Inter-
face Module.
If the suspect gauge does not read about the same as the HDT, replace
the gauge.
