TIP
While holding the generator rotor "2" with the ro-
tor holding tool "3", tighten the generator rotor
bolt.

3. Apply:
• Sealant
(onto the stator coil lead grommet)
Yamaha bond No. 1215
90890-85505
(Three bond No.1215®)
4. Install:
• Generator cover gasket
• Generator cover "1"
Generator cover bolt
10 N·m (1.0 kgf·m, 7.4 lb·ft)
TIP
• Align the projections "a" and "b" on the water
pump with the respective projections "a" and
"b" on the oil pump.
• Align the slit "c" on the impeller shaft with the
projection "d" on the oil pump shaft.
• Tighten the generator cover bolts in stages and
in a crisscross pattern.

5. Connect:
• Stator coil coupler
• Crankshaft position sensor coupler
TIP
To route the stator coil/crankshaft position sen-
sor lead, refer to "CABLE ROUTING" on page
2-13.
