10.1.1
Input
The measured variable is the distance between a reference point (see Fig. on → ä 14) and the
product surface.
Subject to the input empty distance (E, see Fig. on → ä 108), the level is calculated.
Alternatively, the level can be converted by means of linearisation (32 points) into other variables
(volume, mass).
10.1.2
Output
• FOUNDATION Fieldbus (H1):
– signal coding: Manchester Bus Powered (MBP); Manchester II
– data transmission rate: 31.25 KBit/s, voltage mode
Error information can be accessed via the following interfaces:
• Local display:
– Error symbol (→ ä 30)
– Plain text display
• Current output, signal on error can be selected (e.g. according to NAMUR recommendation NE 43).
• Digital interface
The Levelflex M linearisation function enables conversion of the measured value into any desired
length or volume units and mass or %. Linearisation tables for volume calculation in cylindrical tanks
are preprogrammed. Any other tables from up to 32 value pairs can be input manually or semi-
automatically.
The creation of a linearisation table with the FieldCare is particularly convenient.
