Figures 9.2 and 9.3 show the layout of the two most common four-channel
catheters:
• One centimeter spacing between the four pressure channels (spiral) and a
balloon at the tip to test the anorectal reflex (RAIR) and sensations.
• Four pressure channels at the same location (radial) with an angle of 90
degrees and a balloon at the tip to test the anorectal reflex (RAIR) and
sensations.
