▪ Remove the cap from the abdominal catheter. Be sure that no moisture
enters the catheter.
▪ Connect the abdominal catheter to the blue (P
tighten securely. Be sure to connect in the OPEN position (Figure 3.7).
▪ Instruct the patient to cough to remove any excess air before charging the
catheters.
